Network issue on direct connection, workgroup computer inaccesble
I have to computers running XP that I am trying to connect through a direct crossover. I can see the desktop computer on my laptops workgroup computers, but cannot access it. I can however use the desktops internet and printers from the laptop without issue. I'm assuming its an access thing. The desktop won't let me even look at the workgroup computers. I have admin on both. Suggestions?

Make sure that the Windows XP built-in firewall is disabled on all computers. It will not allow file and printer sharing. If you have any other software firewalls running, either configure it to allow network access, or disable it until you get the network working.
