Network Issue
I have a problem...I have a Dell Computer on a County Network that can't access it....I can ping from my computer to others on the network, but can't ping back into my computer from other county computers. I have already replaced the network card, and they are not running a server...just a network of some sort. And the County IT guy says all his stuff is working so he can't help me.
If you guys have any suggestions please feel free to offer advice.
Thanks

On any computer running Windows XP with SP1, disable the Windows XP firewall. It will not allow File and Printer Sharing. On computers running Windows XP with SP2, make sure that the Windows XP firewall has File and Printer Sharing checked off on the Exceptions tab. If you are running any third party firewalls, like those provided by such programs as Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Security, or McAfee Security Suite, make sure they are configured to allow local network traffic.

If the problem is access to your computer from other computers on the network (as seemed to be implied by your initial message), then the problem is on your computer - you don't have to worry about any other computer. You should know which Service Pack you are running on your computer. If you have any doubt whatosoever, temporarily disable all firewalls.
