network not working

I recently intsalled a new modem, and reinstalled my wireless adapter. however, after i did this, i found that I was no longer able to access network files remotely. The wireless internet connection works, but i cannot access files from the other computer in the network. What happened and how can i fix this? All help will be greatly appreciated.
