Problem is when log on to internet with SBC dsl the Msn or any pages run slow and never completrly load.  Talked with SBC tech on dsl for 2 hours and checked all of internet explorer ideas deleting cookies and temp files and still runs slow.

Any ideas will be helpful.  Computer runs fine except when tring to use internet.

First, check to see if Internet Explorer Add-ons are causing the problem.  Right click the Internet Explorer Icon on your desktop and select "Start without add-ons".  If that solves the problem, the next step is to figure out which add-ons are causing the problem.   Report back what you find.

Try it this way - go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

Did the procedure for internet explorer and a screen came up with a image that it was looking for something but it just went in circles and never went away.

When tried to log on to interent it displayed the message #718 the remote computer did not respond in a timely manner.

First time I saw the computer start up as it is at my mother-in-laws but upon coming to display the icons they bounced from the left side to the right side several times before settling down on the left where they normally are.  She said that she thinks she clicked on something while on the interent by accident but does not know what it was.

Thanks for the Help
Jesse
