LBoutote,

Restart your computer, and start tapping the key.  Start the computer in Safe Mode (NOT Safe Mode with Networking).  Login to the system.  Click Start -> Run and type in MSConfig.  Press .  Click the "Launch System Restore" and restore the system to a time immediately before you made these changes.

Hi Big Brother,

I tried to log in under just safe mode without networking & it is still not accepting the administrator as the username or the password.

Is there anything else I can do?  I can't find my boot disk nor the Windows 2000 CD to reinstall or reformat

LBoutote,

I thought that you had Windows XP.  Since you have Windows 2000, you shoud attempt to boot to LKG (Last Known Good) from the Boot menu.  You cannot do a system restore in Windows 2000.

Thanks Steve,

I tried to do last known good configuration & it still did not work - it is pulling
up my stupid changes only..:smileysad:

I am probably going to end up just reformatting it & putting XP on it.
Do you know how to get to DOS in 2000?

I've went through every option  when I hit F8 but I can't seem to find DOS - & every
option I pick is telling me my username & password is not good.

I can't beleive I made a stupid mistake like this & of course it is with an operating system
that I am really not familiar with.

I really appreciate all your advice

LBoutote,

Windows 2000 does not have "DOS".  Formatting the hard drive can easily be done directly from the Windows XP CD to erase the drive.  During the installation, you can simply do a quick format on the existing C: partition and install on that same partition.
