It would help to which version(s) of Windows are involved. Do you have the ability to share files between the computers now? If so, it should be easy. Assuming the desktop is running Windows XP, first make sure the desktop can print to the printer. Then, go to Start > Printers and Faxes, right click on the printer and select "Sharing" from the drop-down menu. Choose to share the printer and give it a name by which it will be known on the network. Give it a few minutes and, assuming the laptop is also running Windows XP, it should show up on the Laptop in the Printers and Faxes folder and Windows will automatically install the necessary drivers.
