network printing issues

Question

I have a dell dimnesion 4300 running xp with an all in one 942 using usb directly and main on network the networked pc is an inspirion 6000. The only way I can print from the networked laptop is to send more than one item to the printers que, restart the 'MAIN' desktop pc. The first item in que is always kicked out, then it will continue to print the 2nd and on items. It's getting a little hectic to have to restart the main pc in order for what I want to print from my laptop to start. Any  help will be appreciated.

Have you tried unplugging the printer from the USB port on the desktop, going into the Printers folder and removing the printer, rebooting, reinstalling the printer software, then plugging in the printer, and making the printer a shared printer again.

yes I have...also I've uninstalled my zonealarm firewall and disabled the windows firewall as well

Do you have the latest drivers for that printer running on the computer that it accessing it over the network?   Steve

This is weird problem that I've never seen before. All I can suggest is to try older/different drivers or post on the Printers forum:
