Network Prolbems!!!!

Question

Ok, I have a dimension 4550 and a inspiron 6000. I want to create a network so I can print from the laptop, but the printer is connected to the desktop. So I did the network wizard and the desktop can ''see'' the laptop but it can access the files. On the laptop I cant see the desktop and when I want to access the shared folder on the desktop it has an error message saying I don't have access permission. Another point is that my desktop is hard wired to a wireless router and can access the internet fine. But the laptop receives the internet via wireless router. And my printer is configured for sharing. HELP!!!!!

Most problems like this are caused by improperly configured firewalls. See all of the other messages on this forum reporting problems similar to yours. On any computer running Windows XP with SP1, disable the Windows XP firewall. It will not allow File and Printer Sharing. On computers running Windows XP with SP2, make sure that the Windows XP firewall has File and Printer Sharing checked off on the Exceptions tab. If you are running any third party firewalls, like those provided by such programs as Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Security, or McAfee Security Suite, make sure they are configured to allow local network traffic.

I tried to do the network fix but I still have the same problems!     I wish I had an easy button!!!!
