It would be helpful if you posted the full and exact text of any error message you are getting.

before the wizard has completed the network this error pops up.
"spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and needs to close"
error signature
sz appname: spools v.exe
sz appVer: 5.1.2600.0
sz Mod Name:ntdll:dll
sz Mod Ver:5.1.2600.1217
offset:0002c 32b

If not, try to set up the network manually instead of using the Wizard. Use the tutorials available at:

Manually set a restore point before editing the registry and you should be safe.
thank you for the help :)
It seems the fix for my problem will require I use the "Registry Editor". If i make a mistake and things go bad can a restore point undo any change I made using registry editor, or would I have to reformat my drive?

thank you for the help :)
