network/ethernet controller
Ok here's the problem:
I recently reinstalled windows xp on my dimension 8250 (service tag 4FZS821) and now I can't get onto the internet. A friend of mine looked at my computer and said i needed a Network Controller and an Ethernet Controller. I don't know much about computers and I was wondering if there was an easy way to fix this. Thanks!

Did you reinstall from a Dell disk or another XP disk? It sounds to me like XP doesn't have your driver for the ethernet card. So, you need to get it from your Dell disk. Go to hardware manager and see if there is an exclamation or question mark on the ethernet controller. If there is, right click it and select "Update driver". Then, put the CD in your CD-Rom and let it detect it.
