Please give us more information on the network setup. Is it using a wired or wireless connection? Which model computer is having the problem? Which version of Windows is it running? Have you tried disabling the McAfee firewall temporarily?
Wired network, dimention 9100. Other computers on network run a mix of XP and 2000.
Basic network running thru a switch with ADSL connection. Connection to ADSL is ok. Other computers can access the computer.
When the network goes out, can you open a command prompt and use the ipconfig /release /renew command to get the network working again? When the network goes out, do the link lights on the network adaper remain lit?
Are the power settings on the network adapter set to never shut off the network adapter to save power? Have your tried temporarily disabling the McAfee firewall?
Uninstaled McAfee Security which came preinstalled and reinstalled the program.
For some reason it would not recognise the firewall settings. All settings are the same as before reinstall, but now recognising the settings.

Great! It would be helpful to others reading this thread if you told us what the problem was and how you solved it. Thanks.
