Hi AdityaVikas,

Please share what kind of connection are you using, wireless or wired.

Dell Inspiron 14R 5420 comes with the following Network Cards:

  • 1703 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Half Mini Card.
  • 1704 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Half Mini Card.
  • WLAN 1901 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Half Mini Card.
  • Intel® 2230 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Half Mini Card.
  • Atheros 8161/8162 Ethernet Card.

You may try the following steps to update the network drivers:

  • Restart your system and click on the link: http://dell.to/QjjZDA
  • Enter the Service Tag of your system and select the operating system.
  • You will find the wireless card and Ethernet Controller drivers under 'Networks'.
  • Click on the network driver depending on the wireless or NIC card your system has.
  • Click on 'Download File'.
  • Select 'For Single File Download via Browser'.
  • Click on 'Download Now'.
  • Save the driver on your desktop.
  • Once the driver is saved on desktop, right click on it and select 'Run as administrator'.
  • Install the network driver by following the on screen instructions.

Also please paste a screenshot of the 'Device Manager' with the 'Network Adapters' expanded. Here are the steps to open 'Device Manager':

  • Click on 'Start' and right click on 'Computer'.
  • Click on 'Manage'.
  • Click on 'Device Manager'.

Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any questions.
