Networking Problems Using TrueMobile 2350

Hi, I'm trying to set up a network - I've got a TrueMobile 2350 router with the latest firmware, RJ45  connection to 8200 XP Pro PC, W2K Pro SP4 L400 notebook w/ Truemobile wireless NIC, WEP enabled.  Both PCs can access the internet, both belong to the same workgroup, both have a shared directory, both have file & printer sharing enabled, TCP loaded on both computers, both are pulling dynamic IP addresses from the router. netbeui not loaded on either PC (DHCP enabled on router) Simple File Sharing Enabled on XP Pro PC.  Can ping the other computer from etiher computer.  Neither computer can see the other computer in Network Neighborhood - workgroup.   What am I doing wrong?  What can I do to fix this so I can share printers and files?   About a year ago I had the network working with these same PCs with an earlier True Mobile router.  Can the problem be router configuration?

Let me know if this isn't the correct news group to post this message to.

Thanks,

Mike

On any computer running Windows XP with SP1, disable the Windows XP firewall. It will not allow File and Printer Sharing. On computers running Windows XP with SP2, make sure that the Windows XP firewall has File and Printer Sharing checked off on the Exceptions tab. If you are running any third party firewalls, like those provided by such programs as Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Security, or McAfee Security Suite, make sure they are configured to allow local network traffic.

Router's normally do not be configured for file and printer sharing.

LAst night I disabled third party firewalls on both computers. Windows firewall was disabled on the XP Pro SP2 PC, but I'll double check.

Any other suggestions?  Does the router need to be configured for Workgroup file/print sharing?

Sometimes the firewalls in Norton and McAfee won't let go even when disabled.   One needs to either configure them properly or completely uninstall them.

Configured Real Secure Desktop Protector on both PCs to allow traffic from the other PC. On XP Pro Windows firewall is turned off. However, it is configured to allow peer to peer work group and file - printer sharing. I renamed the workgroup to the same SSID name as the wireless network.Still PCs are not in Workgroup.

Any recommendations for web resources that might help?

Uninstall all firewalls until you get it to work.

Last night I ran the XP network wizard and all is well - file & print sharing.
