Networking Vista Home Basic with XP/Sharing Printer
I have recently purchased two laptops. One has Vista Home Basic and the other has Vista Home Premium. My wireless router is connected to my Desktop which has XP installed on it. My laptop with Vista Home Premium on it shares files as well as my printer that is connected to the Desktop. I have tried everything I know to do to get my laptop that has Vista Home Basic to network with the Desktop and share the printer. The Desktop does not show on the Network and Sharing Center of Vista Home Basic. When I open the Full Map, in Networking Sharing on the Home Basic, I can see an icon with the Desktop name but it will not allow access. The other laptop that has Home Premium installed appears on the Network and Sharing Center as well as the Full Map of Home Basic and will allow access to files. Can someone make some suggestions as to possible solutions to this problem?
Thanks, CJ
