Network/Internet won't download

I have just purchased a new Dell inspiron 6400, and there is problems with connecting to the internet. I can connect to google, yahoo and they download immediately, but when I connect to other sites, in fact any other site that isn't a search engine, then the downloading of the page takes forever. for example, http://www.firefox2007.com took over 1 minutes, I then gave up. I have had to resort to posting this from another computer. The nework cable is plugges directly into the Dimension 6400, and when I move the cable to another computer, the download speeds are fine, therefore limiting the problem to my new dimension 6400. can someone please help before I return the laptop? kind regards S

I am having the same issue with Optiplex 520 with the BroadCom Integrated and/or the RealTek PCI NICS. What is happening, is that the freshly Dell loaded machines are losing their TCP/IP drivers(getting corrupted) within 48 hours of setting up the computers. I am in the process of diagnosing whether it is a virus(Bag-Z) or an image problem. Wondering if anyone else is having this problem??

You do not tell us which OS you have. If you have Vista you may try the solution in this link.
