New E1505 and wireless problems

I just got my inspiron e1505, and it has the Dell wireless1390 WLAN mini card installed.  I get very little packet activities (sometimes only in the 100's or very low 1000).  It takes  forever until a site opens up and sometimes it seems like it lags and does nothing until something pop ups.  My network (wireless) is strong and my other laptop and home pc works just fine.  So I'm thinking it's this card.  Is there a way to speed this up?

Which make and model router do you have?  Is it running the latest firmware?

Is Windows managing the wireless network or is the Dell utility?  Whichever one is, try the other one.

Do you have an icon in your system tray that shows 4 bars?  If so, that is the Dell Wireless Utility.  Right click on it and select Open Utility.  At the top of the screen, either check or uncheck the box next to "Let this tool manage....."  If you don't have the icon, go to Start > All Programs and open the Utility from the Dell Wireless menu item.

So which one are you now using?  This would be helpful to know in case someone else has the same problem.

I'm letting Window manage it and disabled Dell.  Thanks for your help.  Eve
