New Hard Drive - Modem Connection

Question

I have a DELL Dimension 8300 Desktop and run Windows XP. My hard driver crashed, and I just replaced it with one from DELL. I loaded Windows XP, but cannot connect to my Modem. I have an external T Com Sppedport W 701V Broadband DSL. It is connected to the internet because my laptop wireless connection is active. I received a Drivers and Download disk from DELL with the hard drive. What do I need to do to activate my internet connection on my desktop? It is connected directly to the modem with a LAN cable

How is your DSL modem connected to your PC, Ethernet or USB?

If Ethernet, you'll need to make sure the drivers for your NIC card is installed and working.

If USB, you'll need to install drivers that should have come with your DSL modem.
