"New Hardware found : Network and Computing Encryption/Decryption Controller" !!!

I am facing a problem from last 2 days with my Dell inspiron 6000.
When I rebooted my machine day before yesterday, it gave the following message -
"Found New Hardware: Network and Computing Encryption/Decryption Controller" and then it prompts to install the drivers for the same.
I cancelled the same and then I tried to connect to internet. Then I found the internet connection is not there.
When I checked the "Network Connections", I found that Ethernet Adapter connection is missing.
It was working fine till the time I rebooted and all on a sudden the network adapter is missing.
The ethernet network adapter was Broadcom 440x 10/100. I tried to install the drivers for Broadcom 440x, but the network card is not recognised.
I tried to reinstall all the driver files but still there is no use.
Everytime I reboot the machine, I get the same message "Found New Hardware: Network and Computing Encryption/Decryption Controller" and it prompts to install the driver files for the same.
Any idea why this is happening ? Can you tell me whether some hardware like this really exists.. if so where can I download the drivers. I tried all the drivers in Dell site.. it didn't help

Please help me to solve this problem.

regards,
 Prasanth

Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Restore.  Set the time for the restore to a point before all this started happening.

Try these steps:

1. Check the BIOS version, if it is not version A09 then upgrade the BIOS to version A09. Click here to download the BIOS version A09.

2. Download and install the Dell Notebook System Software.

<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

3. Reinstall the Broadcom 440x NIC driver.

4. Check the Device Manager if there are any "?" or !" or "x" on any of the device listed there.

*** If you do not have an internet connection on your Inspiron 6000 then download the files using another computer. :smileyhappy:
