Can you tell us more about this issue. What model computer, what modem, what operating system, was this the result of taking one modem out and putting another in. The more information you can provide the better the chances of getting a valid response.
This was all written in the post I sent. Don't know what happened? Sorry.
Dimension L1000r Pentium lll, Windows Me. Old modem: V.90, Internal, Data Fax, Soft, Iron. Removed and uninstalled from system. New modem: Broadxent V.92 PCI Value DI3652 by Creative. Installed using 'Add New Hardware' in control panel. Connection speed is very slow, between 19200 and 28000. Usually 19200 and lower. The old modem was also slow, 40000, but never as bad as this new one. I ran 'Test Modem' and the result said: FAIL. Modem not listed in registry. What else needs to be done? Also, my 'himem' is missing. Another issue, but wanted to mention in case they are somehow related.
