New reinstallation...wireless

I recently reinstalled windows and I noticed that it wiped out all my drivers. Well I went and downloaded them all and I downloaded the Intel (R) PRO/ Wireless 2200BG Network Connection...It came up as a new software to find my wireless signal. It found it but it doesnt want to connect...I know the router works fine because there are other people using it in my apartment.

So after being frustrated with that, I went and uninstalled the software and decided to keep just the wireless driver. Windows find my connection but when I click connect  it comes up with an error message saying "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The Network may be no longer in range. Please refresh the list of available networks, and try to connect again."

Am I doing something obviously wrong or is it much more complicated?

PLZ HELP! :)

First of all you need to use the Pro wireless card to configure your wireless connection in this case. Get it installed again and allow it to configure the wireless connection. Then go power down the cable modem and router. Wait 2 minutes or so and power up the modem first. Once powered fully then power the router. After that has powered then select start, run and type in cmd. hit enter. Then type in ipconfig /release and then hit enter. Then type in ipconfig /renew and hit enter. If it renews ok then close the window and you should be able to connect.

I had the same problem after a fresh install of windows i tried everything to get it working again and even tho other people were connecting to the network fine and i was connecting fine previously before the fresh install my computer would not connect,i rang dell and apparently this is a common problem any way all i had to do to fix it was update the firmware on my wireless router/access point.

I called them and told them my problem...they pretty much told me because I unplugged it...it is now defective...and to buy a new one. I am so frustrated...I waited for them on the phone for about 30 minutes just for them to tell me that
