The GX150 has an integrated 3c905c-tx NIC on the motherboard so if it is working correctly it should show up in the BIOS, at least. If it isn't even showing up in the BIOS then either the BIOS is corrupted and needs to be reloaded, or that NIC is a gonner. At worst, you should be able to add a PCI card (or even a USB adapter) for network connectivity.
I would have thought so too but even though the lights on the card are on it also has no 'connection' being displayed.
I tried a few drivers (R41703-for that NIC and 3com etherdisk dwnlds, all from this site.
I get nothing. I just dont understand how it doesnt even have a choice for network in BIOS like some posts say to go to.
Even if the card/component isn't attached, shouldn't the worst case be that it says not detected like when cd or hard drive
is not found?
So now I'm wondering what bios version originally came with gx150? And what version of bios does anyone have that DOES show the network choice under Integrated Devices? if it's earlier than A10/11 then maybe I'll go backwards first then upgrade from there....
Looking at the original GX150 BIOS screens, the NIC is listed in the "integrated devices" subsection, which is right after the memory and CPU information sections. As far as I know the updated BIOS versions do not change this.
If the NIC doesn't show up in the BIOS (or is disabled there) then it will not show up in Windows.
