No audio device installed
I just "upgraded" my inspiron 9300 from xp to vista and everything works but the sound. I have installed the drivers. Windows audio is started. when i go to device manager it says the drivers for the multimedia audio controller are not installed but according to dell they are so i'm guessing it's a vista/dell problem?

@Ieee - that link goes to "page not found". I've had the same trouble with doing links "as is" instead of renaming them - especially any link with an & symbol. The latest forum update seems to be the culprit, though not clear to me if it's FIrefox or the forum software that's mangling it. This link hopefully will work:
support.dell.com/.../document
@Jen - on Dell's site the 9300 doesn't have any Vista drivers listed at all, only XP, which implies that Vista/Microsoft installed its own drivers, not necessarily drivers specific for the Dell 9300. Google isn't helping me much, either. The Laptop Audio Forum would be a better place to post for advice on what's really going on.
