no harddrived and no fixed opt.

my friend gave this to me dell inspiron 8000 it use have os of me now have os win 2000 works great !,with 5.0 with sp 4 . atfer shutting it down and turn off.about 3 to 10 min later this came up as of no harddive not found and no fixed opt. also not found stike F1 which i did.could be cmos or controller going bad or anything? needed help !
