no internet access

Question

Hi,

I have a dell studio 1555 with windows 7-32 bit.

my laptop is getting connected to wifi as well as wired networks but I am not getting any internet access on them.I m facing this problem from last 6-7 days.

also I have tried the solution which were given on the previous forums and I have mcafee antivirus but the "no connection problem" is not related to the recent mcafee problem.

pls suggest me wht to do....

Hi Apuka,

Have you manually re-installed McAfee? I suggest you to try if you have registered.

Check in Safe Mode With Networking. (To check in Safe mode: Start the system and hit the F8 key on the Dell logo screen. From the Advance boot menu options, select Safe mode with Networking)

If able to go online in Safe mode with networking, then it’s an issue mostly with firewall. Disable windows and security software firewall and try again.

If you still have connection problems, Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID, if using XP, run an ipconfig /all log and post it back here.

Hi, I had tried doing 'safe mode with networking thing' twice,but it didnt work. shld I try uninstalling mcafee??

Hi, I have un-installed mc-afee and my net has started working...... shld I re-install it now or get some new antivirus??
