No internet connection
Under Network and Sharing Center I show a red X between my inspiron 1520 to the internet wireless router (netgear 802. I am begining to suspect the card in the laptop as I have checked everything and switched it out with a working desktop using the same cables and router. Running the device manager shows a yellow exclamination on my 6to4 adapter. So I removed same and reinstalled and reset
netsh winsock. Rebooted and checked adapter again with the same ugly yellow symbol. Still cannot get on line with the laptop, anything just short of using it for a boat anchor will suffice. Thanks in advance Jack

Attempted to start the DHCP client and got the following:
Windows could not start the DHCP Client service on Local Computer.
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.

I have the exactly same problem. I hope I can find solution to this with your help...
I suspect that Vista is to blame.

Have you tried to connect the laptop to the router with ethernet to get a working connection?
Have you recently reinstalled your OS
If you are still having a bang on the adapter either the adapter is bad, or you might be usind the wrong drivers. As long as you have the bang it will not work
If you have recently reinstalled your OS there is a certain order to driver reinstalltion.

That is the answer! I must have had a corrupted file because after running that sfc scan it repaired its self. After the reboot it went right on line. It did tell me that there were some files that it did not repair but I did not understand how to display them.
Thanks for sticking it out with me..........THANKS AGAIN
