No LAN settings

Question

Recently i gave my Dimension 2400 to a friend and had to format the hard drive Tried to connect to internet but not able When i go to network connections i have a blank page, hence no LAN settings I only know the basics so can anyone help??? I use a livebox via ethernet cable Rich

Yes have downloaded all drivers i could find and yes i am running XP

Thanks Bill, have done as you said and all is working well except i still have no LAN settings When installing NETWORK Reboot an error message came up - 1607: unable to install installshield scripting runtime   Is this causing the problem?   Thanks for you help Richard
