when you said reset, does that mean you pulled out the power cord on both?

Yes, for both the modem and router, more than once just to make sure.

try putting in a new wpa code in the router and laptop.

I tried that as well.  Also disabled WPA altogether, but still nothing.

Have you reseated the card? If not try that a wire may have come loose. I don't know what system you have so I can't post a link. Also, you can boot to Safe Mode, then go to device manager and delete all network adapters then reboot. Wait for them to all reinstall, then try again.

Thanks for the help, guys. I haven't tried reseating it yet. I'll search the site for instructions and give it a shot.
