No wireless connection

I'm with a serious problem: I can't wireless to my connection. If I plug in the connect cable directly (not wireless) I can surf on the internet.

The problem is that my ipconfig in ms-dos prompt: 0.0.0.0 which is wrong. I did a lot of research but no results. Maybe you pro's can help me ferther.

I already did this for the 0.0.0.0 - problem, but nothing worked: http:\support.microsoft.com/kb/822123/eng
(P.S.: the problem started after formatting my laptop)

Any help is truly appreciated!

Edit: I think I never had any IP. But how do I get an IP then?

Indeed you have an ip. Else you wouldn't be able to receive data from the internet through your wire.

I am no expert in this but you could always try to update your driver.

=>I have did the config with cable: internet works: I have ping of course
=>I have did the config wireless: internet doesn't work(however I receive same packages and send some packages; I can see at status): I have the ping 0.0.0.0

Any suggestions how I can keep connected to the wireless network?

I can search for the wireless connection; connect to it and after some seconds or if I want to use the internet...It goes away.

Providing basic information about your system and network would be most useful.  Which model computer?  Which version of Windows?  Which wireless network adapter?  When you reinstalled, did you install the drivers in the correct order (assuming Windows XP and some model notebook computer, Notebook System Software first, followed by chipset drivers, then the others)?

I have a dell inspiron 510m: with the windows xp home edition.
My network is WPA encrypted.
I have installed all drivers at random at random to be honest. As I don't have a manual in which order this should be done. When I check the devices by entering devmgmt.msc in the run-fuction. All seems OK.

- network adapters:
. 1394 network card
. Intel(R) PRO\100 VE Network Connection
. Inetl(R) PRO\Wireless LAN 2100 3A Mini PCI Adapter

But I remember in couldn't complete of the driver installtions because this error kept popping up: Bluetooth Radio is off; please turn it on by pressing Fn+f2. But When I do this: the message keeps popping up

Try this.  Download the latest drivers for the Intel Pro Wireless 2100.  Boot into Safe Mode and go into Device Manager.  Epand the listing for Network Adapters, select the wireless adapter, and uninstall it.  Reboot to Normal Mode, cancel the New Hardware Wizard, if it starts, then run the driver installation file for the Intel Pro 2100.

I don't understand your last post.  Let's have a look at the output form the ipconfig command.   Go to Start > Run and type cmd then click OK. In the command prompt window that opens, type ipconfig /all then hit the enter key. Write down the output from this command or select it and save it to a txt file, then copy this output into a reply to this message.

I did as told: but no success.

I can detect my wirelless router; connect to it. But I still keep the ping 0.0.0.0 and the first moment I try to do a network activity(search the web; do ipconfig in ms-dow), the wireless connection is interrupted.

Maybe this could be the problem: my router has a firewall. Dunno...

What do you suggest now to do?

My router WiFi DI-524 (G|54):
. High Speed for Wireless Lan Connection: Support both IEEE 802.11b and 802.11g
. Advanced with Firewall and Security
. WEP encryption and WPA supported

I did already post that I did followed that url (I already did this for the 0.0.0.0 - problem, but nothing worked: http:\support.microsoft.com/kb/822123/eng) in my first post...
But no results

Edit:
Okay I did this several times and now at a sudden I get an IP-address back. Very nice to finely have that IP back.
But when I do ipconfig /renew: I get the following error:

Couldn't make a connection to the DHCP-server

Any suggestions what next step is I should take?
