No Wireless Internet Connection

I have a Inspiron B130 Laptop and am having trouble with my wireless connection.  I can connect through my wired connection but not through the wireless.  My botton toolbar shows my wireless connection to be good through Netgear and signal strength is excellent.  When I look at the available wireless networks it does not show an available wireless network.  The following are the details of my laptop:

Using Windows XP
Gateway IP address is    192.168.1.1
Client IP Address is         192.168.254.2

Can someone help me with this problem?

I am having the same problem as Robertson58.  No trouble getting onto the Internet through a wired connection, but can't get on through a wireless connection.  My system detects my wireless network and says that the connection is excellent.  This really has me stymied, and any help would be most appreciated.

Your probablem is that you have your TCP/IP properties set to a static IP address which is outside the range of your router. You need to set it to obtain an IP address automatically. Open Network Connections, right click your wireless connection and select Properties. Find the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), select it, then click on the properties button. Put a check mark next to "Obtain an IP address automatically", and, if necessary, put a check mark next to "Obtain DNS server address automatically".
