Not able to detect wireless connections
My laptop is not picking up any wireless connections. It is an Inspiron 15Z 5523. Here is a little backstory as to what I am experiencing.
A few month ago my laptop's antivirus expired, so I pretty much shut the laptop down and stored it away for a few months. Recently, I booted back up and noticed that it was not picking up my wifi. So I hardlined into my router and updated my antivirus. It was still not picking up any wifi connections.
I called a laptop repair place and they wanted to charge me a whole lot of money to look at it. He told me that the wireless network card would probably need to be replaced. So, instead of paying him all the money he wanted, I ordered one online for 30 dollars and installed it myself. I then went to the Dell website to download the network and bluetooth drivers. Still, my laptop was not picking any wifi signals. I realized that I installed the wrong driver for my network card. So, I went back this morning to install the correct driver. Still, I am not able to pick up a wifi connection.
I am out of ideas here. Anybody have any suggestions? Should I reinstall all my drivers? FYI, the network card I bought is a DW1703 WLAN WIFI/ BLUETOOTH EXPRESS CARD.

Hi 01rude,
Thanks for posting.
Apologies your computer is not working the way you expected. Please check to see that the wifi switch is set to the "on" position. You can verify by checking the status lights on the front left corner of the computer. If that's working then be sure to check the antenna connections on the card you just installed. They're pretty small and often difficult to click into place. If you've tried all that then you might want to look at this information: http://dell.to/2nM9SSB
