Notebook wireless adapter conflict

I have an older Inspiron 8200 notebook with a built-in Truemobile Wireless 802.11b network card.  My Truemobile Base Station got fried recently, so I decided I might as well replace it with a more up to date 802.11g configuration.  I plan to get an 802.11g PCMCIA plug-in adapter for this notebook.  My question is regarding adapter conflicts.  Would I just need to uninstall the existing card through the device manager, or would I have to physically remove the card to avoid conflicts with the 'g" plug-in?  Or better yet, do I have to do anything other than install the "g" card?  The "b" card appears to have a hard wire to a small external window on the notebook, so I am a little reluctant to just try to pop the card out.

I had coverage problems in my house with the "b" setup so I want to have a compatible "Rangemax-g" setup.

I think I may have put this in the wrong area so I have re-posted to the wireless section.

goto ControlPanel, under Network Adapter - right/click the internal wireless adapter and select "Disable"...
