I just reinstalled windows because of some problems i had, know whenever i start my PC say 2 or 3 minutes after start up a get a pop error saying

"Notification dll has not been registered, program will not work correctly"

I uninstalled the wireless software and driver and reinstalled but i still get the error, does anyone have any suggestions to what may be causing this? thanks.

Type msconfig

Go to Start up tab.

Doudy, do you have the same question as FLX123 (and astraon)? I'm not sure why you are quoting a 2006 post.

Hey, just checked other site and found fix, thanks to 'nana1956' at social.technet.microsoft.com. Here's what they said:

"I had the same error code when I first right clicked the command prompt as administrator and tried to registered the dll.  I then took the following steps:

After the C:\\WINDOWS\sytem32>

type: space

then type: regsvr32

then type: space

then type: wltrynt.dll

then press: enter

This was how I succeeded to register the dll.  Hope I helped."

Same trouble here. I've scrolled through all the thoughtful reponses, and still, no dice. I already had com+ installed and I already had DW Lan unchecked at Startup, so none of those things could be what causes my own laptop trouble.

I hope this thread continues and helps someone solve this issue.

Hiya am glad I found this site, this message started to appear on my laptop today after it crashed during an update. I'm not that great when it comes to technology so please bare with me. I boot up the computer, I first get the "computer wasn't shut down properly" page then when I click start windows normally after about 3 mins I get this message. After that I get a black screen with the white arrow which I can move but that is as far as it gets so how can I do the above when the computer doesn't continue to boot up???

I don't know if this will help but I've just managed to sort mine out, as I was unable to get into command prompt, safe mode or anything else I rebooted and kept hitting f8 until a new menu appeared. I did a system restore back to a date before this message appeared as I figured it was an update or installation that caused it and rebooted when prompted, my computer is now working fine and not had the message since. Hope this helps x

Hi Catherine,

Please share the 'System Model' and 'Operating System' installed. Also, please share the complete description of the error message that you are getting on the screen. Along with this also share the 'Application/Software' that you're trying to use or work on.

Please reply with the information, I'll be happy to help.

Thanks - registering the DLL resolved issue for me.

1.  Open a Command prompt with elevated credentials:  Start Button --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Command Prompt  --  right-mouse click and select "Run as administrator"

2.  In new command-prompt window, type:  regsvr32 wltrynt.dll  (then press enter key)

3.  In command prompt window, type "exit" (then enter key) to close

4.  Reboot the system to verify error alert is gone

hi, i was having the same error message, i followed the services you have listed but i found the error associated with this file bcmwltry.exe which is also associated to the \system32\wltrynt.dll (Wireless Notification Provider)

Solution: is to run your command prompt as an administrator then run this

\regsvr32 wltrynt.dll

please take note of the space btn the comman and the file

this should solve the problem
