Novatel u720 USB Modem from Sprint

Recently purchased a Novatel u720 USB Modem for my Dell B120 Laptop since the express cards hard few and far between.
 
The software was installed and when the modem is plugged in to the USP Port, the laptop recognizes that it has been attached and that the appropriate software is installed and the modem is ready to go.
 
The software that controls panel that controls the modem stays "greyed out" and is not accessible.  On the device manager it shows the modem however the software will not "hook-up" to the modem itself rendering it useless.
 
Anyone else had this problem with the new USB modem from Novatel?

Hi
  Just try installing the card in the different computer and also try using the latest software for the modem and call ISP to test the connection.
