Old network, New problem??

I am running a Dell Inspiron 9100 laptop XP Pro with a Dell WLAN 1350 wireless card, a Dell Deminsion 8200 desktop XP Home with a Linksys wireless adapter and my router is a Linksys wireless G. It was working just fine for literally years then all of a sudden I can not access the desktop files or printers from my laptop, the printers are hardwired to the desktop. The desktop can access the laptop files. Any ideas on what happened?  As a last resort I would not be opposed to deleting the laptop network connection and starting over. How do you do that to get it off completely? Thanks in advance.
