Onboard Ethernet

I have an Inspiron 8200 that has been incredible for me...I returned from a trip and can not get my ethernet connection to accept with the left side onboard ethernet port.  When I dock my machine, it will communicate through the ethernet port on the back side of the docking station.

I have installed/re-installed the drivers and every other savvy computer trick I know.  Is this a hardware problem and, if so, does Dell even sell the part for me to fix it?

It could be nothing more than a corrupt driver or TCP stack.  First try uninstalling the device thru the Device Manager and reboot letting it reinstall.  If no go  on that, then Google for a program named WinSockFox for XP and run it.

Hey JM,

Do you mean WinSockFix?  Do you think it will help with my Inspiron problem (a few threads below)?
