optiplex gx110 ethernet controller

ok...i found the right driver for the integrated ethernet adapter. The problem is that I installed the wrong one before i was notified of the right one. Because of that, when windows 98 starts up, after bios boot, and after the w98 pic, a black screen shows up, and it says its missing a .dxv file. I continue according to the instruction: "press any key to continue." My desktop starts to load, but before anything appears on it, windows claims another file is missing having to do with internet explorer. I checked the registry for the .vxd file, and i found it. it doesn't appear to be missing. I have no idea what the other file is all about.
Is there any way to revert back to when i had no driver, and this problem never existed?? I would sure like to save myself a headache trying to search through windows files and registry to pinpoint the location of the "missing" files.
