Are the network cables securely plugged in?  Are the link lights on both the router and the network card on your computer lit up when both devices are powered on? Are you getting a valid IP address from your router?  Go to Start > Run, and type cmd followed by enter.  Then type ipconfig /all and see what IP address is being assigned.  Report back what you find.

All that Greek means you have a valid IP Address from the router but some how you managed to enable a Proxy.  Go to Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings and uncheck the box next to the Enable Proxy. (This is one of about three to do this), also accessable thru the Control Panel.
