ohoniebee,

There is a reset button in the back of the wireless router. Press and hold it for 60 seconds and this will reset the router back to factory. Setup the wirteless router again, using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings

HEY RICK,

THANKS

BUT i TRIED WHAT YOU SUGGESTED ( TO PRESS A RESET BUTTON ON THE WIRELESS ROTER) AND IT DID NOT WORK.   i DON'T HAVE WIRELESS, i HAVE DSL. ONCE AGAIN IT IS A DELL AND i FORGOT MY PASSWORD TO GET INTO THE COMPUTER.  DELL WANTS TO CHARGE A CRAZY FEE TO HELP ME RESET IT.

ohoniebee,

I must be seeing things. I thought you needed to get into your wireless router, since you posted in networking and wireless.

Maybe this is what you're looking for.

So, it appears I am not alone with this problem.  Except that I just bought my computer a few weeks ago.  I put a password on it to protect it but never used it.  Now I can't get any support from dell techs without a fee.  Boy am I glad I found this out before I got my nephews and neices their computers for christmas.  I have often heard that dell has very poor customer support.  Now I see why people say this.    I am not going to pay for a software warranty or to get a simple solution to a small problem.  Dell sure knows how to discourage future repeat purchases.  I am already shopping around for next years model.  But I am discounting any further inclusion of dell products.  I would hazard to encourage you to do the same.
