PC Card from Verizon Wireless
I just purchased a new E1505 in March. I have started a new job and will be moving to a new location (all over the country) every 3 months. I had heard a little bit about the PC wireless cards through cell phone services that allow you to have wireless internet wherever you have cell phone service. So I went to the Verizon store (with whom I've had service with for several years) and talked to a saleslady who swore that the PC5740 broadband access/national access pc card would work with my E1505. I thought "This is great! Wireless internet wherever I go without having to set up a new service with every new location."
Well, low and behold, I don't think it works. I kept plugging it in and the computer does not register so I decided to look in the slot and it is a different shape from the PC card. Has anyone had any experience with this? I am quite computer illiterate. I did ask before I purchased if this was returnable if it did not work with my computer and she told me I had 15 days. Am I doing something wrong or does it really not work? I was quite disappointed. Are there other options (like different size cards) that will work? Any information regarding these PC cards will be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your help!

This issue has been discussed countless times on these forums. All new Dell laptop computers come with the new technology Express Card slots, not with the old technology PC Card slots. Thus, the current cards sold by Verizon will not work in a newer model computers from Dell and many other manufacturers. Dell has just released an Express Card networking card that is compatible with the Versizon network. See the following:

Verizon should be releasing their version soon and Verizon should know about this.

You will have to discuss the steps necessary to use this adapter with Verizon.
