PC Not on Network
We have four Dells on a LAN with my PC (8300, 3.2 Ghz) operating as a "server" with files that are shared with the other PCs. All of a sudden a couple of days ago the other PCs were not able to get to the shared files. I talked with Dell support yesterday and we did a ping test from my PC to the others and from one of the others to mine and each ping test was successful which I believe means they are "talking" to one another.
When I right click, on the folders I want to share on my PC, there is no "Sharing & Security" option which I believe means that my PC IS NOT on a LAN. I am able to use the shared files OK.
Also, I do not have the littel double screen icon in my task bar which would show that my PC is on the network.
Any help will be appreciated.

Any other way to get to the "Sharing & Security" for those folders?

The folders reside in My Network Places. They are db folders that each of the PCs need to access.

Where else would the "original share" be?

Not in network places. Find the original folder and make sure that folder is shared with the appropriate permissions. Just becasue you put a folder in netwrok places doesn't mean all can see & use it.
