Peer to Peer networking help needed..

I will be networking 2 Dells today, one is a optiplex gx110 win98 the other is a Dimension 2400 Pentium winxp.

Here is what I want to do?

I want both computers to be able to be online at the same time, through the same phone line.

What is required for this? I have ethernet cards in both, already installed. I have a Cat5 wire ran, however have also purchased a Cat5e Crossover ( for pc to pc connection) Patch Cable.

Can someone give me some words of help, if so Thanks, if not where there's a will, there's a way..

Morris2b,

You will need to run the network setup wizard on both computers. On the computer that has the phoneline in its modem, click the first connection method. Choose your internet connection and type in your computer's name. Type in either your Workgroup name or Domain name, and click next. Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) should already be selected along with the firewall. Finish the wizard on that computer. Then go to the other computer and do the same thing, but choose the second option, and follow the prompts and finish. Hook up the computers and you should have your connection shared.
