Please, I need help finding a driver
I have a Dimension 4100 with WinMe. I have to do a clean install because of numerous errors. I know I have a Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC that my cable modem is plugged into and I see it in Devices. I read all through a clean install by Dell and can't find anything on this driver. I've e-mailed Dell, they tell me that they never install it.:: (No one has ever been inside the tower except me, and I didn't install it).
Can someone please help me so I can do my clean install? I hope I posted in the correct forum. I've been reading for days without success.:smileysad:
thank you

Thank you so very much.:smileyhappy: I have one question, can I load it to a floppy or a CD? I ask because once I do the clean install, I wont be able to get back on the internet.
thank you,

Hi again,
Yes it would be wise to copy the file to a CD. Then you can load it once you format your drive, re-install windows, then your chipset drivers, then you can install the device drivers for your particular computer setup. ie, your sound card, video card, network (NIC) card...etc
