Poor wireless Signal

Question

Hi I'm at university using the wireless internet here. Everyone around me have good connections however when I try to connect either I cannot or I get a very poor signal, unable of transmitting anything. Oh ya I have a inspiron 6000 that I got in the summer.

In your wireless connection properties do you have 'Use Windows to configure my wireless connection checked off'?

Yes, It works fine at home too using a dlink wireless router.

Use the connection wizard in control panel and make a new connection.
