Power over ethernet.

Question

Hello,   We have several laptops that we need to connect to devices that have power on thier ethernet cables. I was curious if anyone knows are pins 4, 5 , 7 & 8 on the rj-45 connector of most dell laptops no connects? Thanks

Usually, PINS 1,2, 7, & 8 do the talking while the other 4 are silent.  This is for Ethernet cable and I will presume that all NICS follow this pattern also.

Alright, that doesn't answer my question. It was a long shot anyone would know off the top of thier head; I guess I'll just have to crack open the cases. Thanks anyways.
