I did a firmware upgrade to a PowerConnect 5012. From version 5.1.4 to 6.1.2. Now whe it boots it end with this error:

System Interface Attachments:
 Device tty0 has been attached.
 Device de0 has been attached.
 Device nd0 has been attached.
Assertion "vlanId <= AM_VLAN_MAXID" in file vlan.c at line 305 failed.
Crashing the system...
I cannot access the switch.

Hi,

I've also ran into problems trying to upgrade to the latest firmware. My error message is a bit different however...

I remember I fixed this problem earlier by aborting the usual boot sequence and enter some kind of boot menu where I could tell the switch to download a new firmware on next boot (or something like that). However, I don't remember how to enter that menu...

If someone knows how I'd be ever grateful if he/she could post it here!

I'll continue googleing and keep you updated.

Oh; forgot the point ;)

The point in all this was to install an older firmware to get the switch up and running again.
