Printing using wireless from laptop
I just ordered a laptop with a wireless networking card (Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card (54Mbps) and a wireless router (Netgear WPN824 RangeMax Wireless Router). I already have a Epson printer that I planed on using. How will I be able to use the printer via the wireless router? Will I need something to make the printer wireless, or will it connect directly to the router or what?
Thanks,
Ted.

You will have to connect the printer to another computer on the same network, designate the printer as a shared printer on the computer to which it is connected, enable File and Printer sharing on the computer, configure the firewall on the that computer to allow local network access, and then, if necessary, install the printer as a network printer on any computer that will use it over the network.

Thank you for responding. I see you are one of the regular people that answer a lot of inquiries, and I appreciate you taking time to answer mine.
My current PC is a desktop (Dimension 8100, with Win Me), that the printer (EPSON STYLUS CX6600) is hooked up to. I was not expecting to have it part of the Wireless network, but it sounds like that may be what I need to do.
I currently am connected via Cable, with that modem connected to the desktop via an either net (spelling?) cable.
Questions that come to mind are;
Any other thoughts?
Thanks again,
Ted

Thank you! Now I will just need to waite until my equipment arrives, and try to see how to make these changes. That may result in additional questions...
Thanks again,
Ted.
