Problem installing Intel Proset software

I have an XPS m1210 laptop with the Intel 3945 wireless card (Windows XP SP2). Up until the last couple of days, I've never had any problems with it. Then I started getting the 'Problem applying Profile' message when attempting to connect that has been described in other posts. So I tried the following: 1. Tried repairing the Proset installation via Add/Remove programs. Ran just fine but no change. 2. Tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the Proset software. While the uninstall seemed to work - the reinstall looked like it finished, but the software was not installed on my machine. 3. Tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling. The driver seemed to install fine, but the Proset software didn't install - I keep getting an error message about 'C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin is missing' and the installation stops. When I go into Add/Remove programs to try to remove it, I get a message about the installation being corrupted and that I should reinstall. I try to reinstall, but all the status messages indicate that the installation is being repaired. But when it's finished, I still have no software (in fact, the C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless directory doesn't exist at all - even though I've just finished installing/repairing the installation. So, I'm at my wits end with the program that I can't seem to reinstall. The good news is that I can connect using the built in windows wireless utility, but I can't understand why the Proset software won't install. Is there any particular advantage to using the Proset software? Does anyone have ideas about how to get the Proset software to install correctly?

Hey, If you have trouble with bin file then, install the driver from the intel website and use the repair option first than installing it. hope tis helps.
