problem saving file on file server
Hi,
Bit of a strange one. Recently bought a dell power edge 2850, this is running windows 2003 ent, exchange 2003 ent and is our file server. We also have an older dell poweredge 2500, running w2ksp4 as the DC.
The new server has two nics teamed for fault tolerance. Users using excel seem to have a problem, that sometimes, they will save a spreadsheet. When they open the spreadsheet back up, it has been corrupted or damaged. If they save it to thier hard disk it is fine, if they save onto the DC it is fine, only on the poweredge 2850. Secondly since moving across to the newer server, our autocad users, when saving, will need to recover the file on open. They do this, save and the next time they try to open the drwing, its been occurpted and needs repairing again, same as before, if saved onto their local machine or the dc no problems (where using office 2003 and autocad 2007).
This must be a problem with the new server.
Ive checked for viruses, spyware etc, on the server and on the users machines that have been having problems. Ive fully patched, un-installed, re-installed problem apps, on machines/server. Ive run the dell diagnostics on the server and they report that all is ok.
Any ideas
Many thanks
Paul

Was just trying to give an overall picture of the problem, but i am tempted to disable the team, run with one nic and see how that goes. Could it be anything else?
cheers
