Problem with Netgear DM111P Modem!!Help Needed.

 have been signed up to IrishBroadband DSL package for around 5 weeks now,and I have been having problems with the modem stated above since day one.The problem stated is the modem not communicating with my Dell Dimension 2000 computer,and therefore not being instated an IP address,or "Unable to contact DHCP server".The DHCP server is what is contained in the modem.After a quick search on the internet I find that many people have been having this problem and that the global rating of the modem is 1/5.I have spent many hours on the phone trying to fix this problem and that has cost me more than this Broadband package is worth.

I have been 5 weeks without the service I'm paying for,and that is hardly acceptable.

Please Reply with help,much appreciated!=(

Yours sincerely,
Cian

Buy a modem on the economy and get rid of the one they gave you.  It is not needed.  D-Link makes several modem that work very well in Europe, I should know as I have been thru just about everyone available.

The only thing you need to get another modem working is your ISP username and password.  The modems have wizards that can walk you thru the setup process.

My guess is the modem or your phone cabling.
