problem with truemobile 1300

Here's the deal:

I recently set up a wireless network at home with a brand new dlink router. The only problem is, I get very fuzzy connection on my laptop (5150). I'll always get signal strength but a times i can't do anything online. Things will stop downloding, pages won't' open and i'll have to wait a minute for it to work agian. This happens maybe every 3 minutes. I also tested my speed at MSN and im just over 56 K which is ridiculous. I'd love it if somebody could just post a few things i could try. Thanks a heck of a lot.

Do you have any 2.4 ghz cordless telephones operating in the vicinity of the router or computer?  What about microwave ovens?  Have you tried changing the channel on the router to 1 or 11 instead of the default of 6?

I'm having similar problems with my DLink 614+ router and truemobile 1300 minipci card on Inspiron 5150. My wireless connection keeps on dropping and reconnecting after every few minutes there's no fixed time for disconnection. I'm just a few feet away from router. There are no phones, no microwaves, no tv and no nuclear materials around ;)

My friends using different laptops have absolutely no problems with the same connection. I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers etc but nothing seems to work. Will appreciate any help.

Thanx a bunch

On the 614+ and the new 624 (108mb enhanced), you need to disable the 4x (614+) and the 2x (624) for reliable and stable connections with the 1300 and 1400.

I also got problems with TrueMobile 1300 and Netgear 624/602. After switching from WEP to WPA encryption it got much more reliable.
